چکیده

The genera Ptaeroxylon and Cedrelopsis have been grouped together by Styles and Pennington into the Ptaeroxylaceae family due to similarity in their morphology and structure of the secondary xylem. The monospeci"c genus Ptaeroxylon had previously been placed in the Sapindaceae, the Rutaceae, and most popularly, in the Meliaceae families. The pollen of Cedrelopsis and Ptaeroxylon are very similar, unlike that of any Meliaceae pollen grain but similar to that of some Rutaceae (Styles and Pennington, 1975). The grouping together of Cedrelopsis and Ptaeroxylon is supported by chemical evidence: the wood of both was found to contain a variety of chromones and coumarins but no limonoids (Dean and Taylor, 1966; Dean et al., 1967a}c; McCabe et al., 1967; Eshiett and Taylor, 1968; Dean and Robinson, 1971). Implications of a molecular phylogenetic study of the Malagasy genus Cedrelopsis and its relatives (Ptaeroxylaceae).

Ptaeroxylaceae is an Afro-Malagasy family containing three genera, Bottegoa, Cedrelopsis, and Ptaeroxylon. Although the family is morphologically well delimited, it is currently considered part of the subfamily Spathelioideae in a broadly circumscribed orange family (Rutaceae). The Malagasy Cedrelopsis has traditionally been associated with different families of the order Sapindales and its phy...

A new cassane diterpenoid from the seeds of Caesalpinia decapetala.

Phytochemical investigation on the seeds of Caesalpinia decapetala led to the isolation of a new cassane diterpenoid with an unusual O bridge between C-19 and C-20, named phanginin Q (1), together with three known cassane diterpenoids, caesaljapin (2), caesaldekarin A (3), and caesaldekarin B (4). The structure of the new compound was elucidated by spectroscopic methods, including (1)H NMR, (13...

Pericolactines A–C, a New Class of Diterpenoid Alkaloids with Unusual Tetracyclic Skeleton

Fusicoccane diterpenoids usually possess a fused 5-8-5 tricyclic ring system, which are biogenetically generated from geranylgeranyl diphosphate (GGDP). In our report, three novel diterpenoid alkaloids with fusicoccane skeleton, pericolactines A-C (1-3), were isolated from Periconia sp.. Their structures with absolute configurations were determined by spectroscopic analyses and quantum chemical...
